Standard pressure vessels up to 40bar
Used as buffers, typically placed after the electrolyzer, possibly another low pressure hydrogen source. These steel pressure vessels, or bundles of pressure cylinders, are standardly made of steel that is resistant to so-called hydrogen embrittlement.
Pressure bundles for pressures up to 1000bar
They are primarily designed to store hydrogen at high pressure and then serve as buffers for filling vehicles at two standard pressure levels of 350bar (trucks, buses, construction equipment, ...) or 750bar (passenger vehicles).
Metal hydride storage tanks
They are the leading technology for chemically bonded hydrogen storage at low pressure. It is an extremely safe technology that is also very efficient due to its ability to store approximately 15 times more hydrogen per unit volume than pressure vessels.
